Verification and badges
What a check confirms, how long it lasts, what brands see and how to request one.
Checks
A verification check confirms one fact for a period: identity, ownership of a social handle, a postal address, a brand's domain. A person on the ProvenReel team reviews the evidence; passed checks become badges.
Evidence is kept only as long as the check needs it and is never shown to the other side.
Badges
| Badge | Means |
|---|---|
| Identity verified | The person behind the profile is who they say. |
| Handle verified | Ownership of the social account was confirmed. |
| Address verified | A postal address was confirmed (for shipments). |
| Brand verified | The workspace is run by the company it names. |
A badge expires with its check; renew before the date shown.
Declared vs checked
A social handle you typed is declared; one confirmed by a check is checked. Brands see the difference.
Appeals and reports
A failed check can be appealed once with new evidence. Anyone can report an impersonation; a person reviews every report.
