Draft for legal review. Version 2026-10-draft-1, effective 19 October 2026. These rules apply to every brand, creator and operator on ProvenReel and form part of the terms of service.
1. Why these rules exist
ProvenReel exists because real people and original voices matter more in a world full of generated content. The rules below protect audiences, creators and brands alike. Breaches lead to warnings, content removal, loss of badges, suspension or termination, always with a stated reason and a route to appeal.
2. Human-content policy
2.1 Real people, real experience. Content presented as a creator's experience must be the creator's own. A creator must have actually used the product or service they describe, for the period and in the way they describe.
2.2 No synthetic likeness or voice presented as real. Fully or partly generated faces, bodies, voices or testimonials must never be presented as a real person's experience. Generative tools may be used for editing, captions, translation or planning; the person, their voice and the product experience must be real. Where a jurisdiction requires it, AI-assisted elements must be labelled.
2.3 No fabricated results. Before/after images, metrics, screenshots or outcomes must be genuine, unaltered beyond ordinary editing, and attributable to the creator.
2.4 Acknowledgement. Creators acknowledge this policy before their first application; the acknowledged version is recorded.
3. Disclosure requirements
3.1 Every piece of sponsored content, gifted-product content or affiliate content must disclose the commercial relationship clearly, in the language of the audience, in a place and form visible before the content is consumed — for example "Ad", "Sponsored", "Paid partnership with [Brand]", or the platform's native paid-partnership label. Hashtag clusters at the end of a caption are not sufficient.
3.2 Brands must not ask creators to omit, hide or soften disclosures. Agreements on ProvenReel include the disclosure requirement as a term; publication evidence records whether it was met.
3.3 Affiliate links and codes must be identified as such where the content appears.
4. Prohibited claims
The following are prohibited in briefs, content, messages and profiles:
- Health, medical or therapeutic claims that a product prevents, treats or cures a disease, or claims about supplements, nutrition or cosmetics that are not substantiated and permitted in the audience's market (EU: Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 and national rules; US: FTC and FDA rules).
- Guaranteed outcomes (weight loss, earnings, results) and "clinically proven" or "doctor recommended" language without the evidence the brand kit must reference.
- Fake scarcity, fake reviews, misleading "before/after", undisclosed material connections.
- Content targeting children with products unsuitable for them; content involving minors without the consents required by law.
- Claims about competitors that are not verifiable.
Brands provide a claims library with sources in their brand kit; creators must use only approved claims.
5. Conduct
- Treat counterparts with respect; no harassment, discrimination or threats.
- No cold outreach, contact scraping or messaging outside the platform's published mechanisms.
- No self-referrals, coupon leakage, bought engagement or attribution manipulation.
- No sharing of other organizations' confidential information or product access.
- Report concerns confidentially through the platform; retaliation against a reporter is itself a breach.
6. Enforcement and appeals
Reports are reviewed by a human operator. Automated detection only flags; it never sanctions on its own. Sanctions are scoped (for example to applications or to discovery) and never withhold earnings already due. Every decision records its reason; appeals are decided by a different operator within the published window. Review windows, categories and staffing are to be confirmed before launch (D16).
