Disclosure and honest content

What must be disclosed in sponsored content, what the content policy forbids, and who is responsible.

Disclosure

Paid partnerships must be disclosed in a way the audience understands, on every platform and in every language the content is published in. The brief's must-haves can specify the exact wording; when they do not, the creator uses the clear label of the platform (for example Paid partnership or #ad) at the start of the content, not buried in a caption.

The brand is responsible for the claims it asks for; the creator is responsible for the disclosure and for saying only what is true about their own experience.

The content policy

Every creator acknowledges the current version of the content policy before applying. In short:

  • No synthetic faces or voices presented as real people.
  • No transformation of someone's likeness without their consent.
  • Genuine product experience: you show what you actually used.
  • No claims the brand kit forbids.

The policy is versioned; a new version asks for a new acknowledgement.

When something goes wrong

A brand can request changes within the agreed revision rounds, or open a case if the content breaks the policy or the brief. A creator can open a case if the brand asks for something the brief did not contain. See Cases and disputes.
