Funding an agreement (test mode today, live later)
What you pay, when, how test mode differs from live, and what receipts you get.
What you pay
The accepted total of the agreement plus the platform fee, shown per deliverable line. The fee rate is the one that was current when the offer was sent and is frozen in the agreement.
When
After the creator accepts, from the funding screen. Work cannot start before the payment is confirmed by the provider. Amendment top-ups are funded the same way.
Test mode during the pilot
The payment provider runs in test mode: no real money moves, no card is charged, payouts to creators are simulated. Fees, timing, receipts, holds and refunds behave exactly as they will live, so what you learn now carries over. Every screen that touches money shows a test-mode notice.
Going live needs decisions that are not taken yet (contracting entity, tax treatment, payout provider agreements). You will be told before anything changes, and nothing switches on without your consent.
Receipts
A receipt is issued for every confirmed payment on your billing page, with the lines and the fee. Tax is not applied during the pilot and the document says so.
Failed or pending payments
Requires action means your bank asked for a confirmation; failed lets you try again without creating a duplicate. Refunds after a cancellation or a case appear on the same page.
